I have met with the Privacy Commissioner, who is conducting an inquiry into MSD’s proposed contract requirement that providers share identifiable data on clients. There has been a large response to their survey – thanks to those of you who responded.
There are two other developments:
- SSPA, along with other groups that are part of ComVoices, is preparing a submission to ministers to propose a different approach to data gathering and sharing. We will send a copy to members once completed.
- MSD is inviting a small number of providers to attend workshops to prepare for the sharing of identifiable data on clients. This is problematic given the discussions that are going on, and it would be helpful to know if any SSPA members have had an invitation. Please get in touch. SSPA Quick Update 2 March 2017
