Using ChatGPT in Social Service Organisations

Back by popular demand,  we will again be running this two-hour introductory workshop which will give you the confidence and practical skills to use ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence (AI) tools in your day-to-day mahi.

Te Pai Ora SSPA are excited to offer this workshop and member only opportunity alongside our friends, capacity builders LEAD (Centre for Not for Profit Governance and Leadership).

"Great learning. Thanks!!!! ... the presenters explaining a complex matter in a simple manner"  - attendee from  the Using ChatGPT in Social Service Organisations workshop held in July 2024

This session will build on our February Kai & Kōrero: Learning over lunch session where we heard from Synergia during their presentation about “Exploring AI and ChatGPT Safely”. If you were unable to join us in February, you can still watch a recording of it here.

Facilitated by Mosaic Partners this two-hour workshop will offer an engaging, interactive and practical approach without being overly technical – it’s suitable for everyone from those who have never heard of ChatGPT through to those who use it regularly!

Participant feedback from our first AI session in February has been incorporated to ensure the interactive activities and scenarios, are tailored for our members and are relevant to the social service sector. The content will outline areas specific to your mahi and roles that would be most useful to learn about. This workshop will not be recorded.

Participants will:

  • Discuss ChatGPT safety/ethical best practices and security tips
  • Learn to interact with ChatGPT and other Al tools, including learning to automate tasks such as:
    • Summarising long conversations or documents and report writing
    • Drafting (or responding to) applications/proposals
    • Analysing or consolidating data
    • Various HR tasks: writing job listings/descriptions, interview questions, onboarding planning
  • Discover a framework for powerful prompting - saving hours in the week
  • Be introduced to new Al technologies

During the two-hour workshop we will cover:

  • 30 min - What it is, how it works, key terms and limitations
  • 30 min - Effective prompting
  • 30 min - Hands-on activities and scenarios
  • 30 min - More advanced topics: ChatGPT Plus and other AI tools
