We are looking forward to welcoming you to Whakamanawa – The National Social Services Conference 2022. We have some exciting speakers in the works who we know are going to inspire and rejuvenate us during these times!

We have made some key changes relating to the Conference.

We have made the decision to hold Whakamanawa 2022 as a virtual conference. This is due to ongoing uncertainty regarding the pandemic, and our commitment to ensuring that Whakamanawa is as inclusive as possible, keeping your health and safety, and that of the hapori you work with, central. This was a difficult decision to make, but we trust you will understand. We can now give you absolute certainty that you will be able to attend the National Social Services Conference next year, which we are very excited about.

Because of this change, we have decided to push the dates of the Conference out a bit, to enable us to plan for bringing you the high-quality experience you expect.

The new dates for Whakamanawa 2022 are Monday 04 April – Wednesday 06 April, 2022

The Conference will run across each of these three days from 9:15am-12:30pm. We are running the Conference in this way to make it as engaging for you as possible in a virtual environment.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 05 April, we plan to support regional kanohi ki te kanohi side-hui to take place, in conjunction with Whakamanawa. These will take place depending on the safety of being able to do so in each specific region, in light of what colour of the COVID-19 Protection Framework your region is in at the time. The focus will be on supporting regional whakawhanaungatanga, and will be locally-led by SSPA members.

Please mark the dates Monday 04 April – Wednesday 06 April in your diary now! We are committed to bringing you an inspiring, thought-provoking and informative Conference. You can count on it including new opportunities to learn, to be strengthened in your practice and wellbeing, and to engage with fellow kaimahi from around the motu.
