In light of the continued COVID-19 Delta outbreak situation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Whakamanawa | The National Social Services Conference 2021.

This is not a decision that SSPA has taken lightly, and we know it will be disappointing to hear. We trust that everyone will understand our reasons for this postponement. We want to ensure a high quality, engaging and inclusive event, while doing all we can to protect the health and safety of everyone who attends.

We know the Conference is an annual highlight for many SSPA members and those working in the social sector, and that COVID-19 has significantly impacted our ability to bring you the Conference over the past two years. Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support!

The good news is that we look forward to welcoming you to Whakamanawa | The National Social Services Conference next year

on the new dates of Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 March 2022, at Te Papa in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

Please mark your calendars now and purchase your tickets! The Programme will be confirmed over the coming months, and it promises to be an exciting, inspiring and engaging Conference.

Whakamanawa is the moment for all those working in social service mahi to hui together, be inspired, share learning for the work ahead and connect with decision makers.  Whakamanawa is the first National Social Services Conference in two years, and we are excited to be back hosting this important hui in 2022!

Aotearoa's community based social services have played an essential role getting families and whānau through the pandemic.  It is time for us to gather together and build on our strengths from this unprecedented time.

There will be lots of opportunities to network, generate and share ideas, plan action, hear from experts and sector leaders, and learn from each other.  The conference will deliver information to get you up to date on the latest developments in government policy, social service practice, workforce development and a host of other topics.  As your host, SSPA is putting together an exciting programme - so watch this space, and make sure you register to attend.

You will leave the conference informed, reconnected and ready to take ideas for action back to your organisation.  You will be revitalised to take up the challenges and opportunities of working in te ao hurihuri together with Aotearoa's children, rangatahi, families and whānau.
