Funding and contracting issues with Oranga Tamariki
We continue to hear from many of our Te Pai Ora SSPA members about the funding and contracting issues they are facing with Oranga Tamariki. Like many of you, we are concerned about what this will mean for the children, rangatahi and whānau around the motu who continue to need the support of community-based social services.
We know there is a high level of uncertainty and stress within many of our member organisations. Please reach out to us and share your stories. Te Pai Ora SSPA will continue to share information with the leaders of our member organisations and advocate on their behalf.
Our CEO, Belinda Himiona had the opportunity to speak with Kathryn Ryan on National Radio.
“What I see is a real yearning for constructive partnership with government and that also means that not everybody will maybe have the same model going forward, and I think the main focus is on making sure that children and families have the services that then demands for services are being met in a way that helps them to thrive," said Belinda.

On Monday 15 July, our Chief Executive Belinda Himiona was also part of a story on Three News highlighting the plight and difficulties many of you are currently facing.
