On Monday 11 September, Social Service Providers Te Pai Ora o Aotearoa welcomed Belinda Himiona as their new Chief Executive.
Belinda brings with her a vast amount of experience and knowledge, having dedicated much of her career to improving the lives of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau, she feels strong alignment to the values and purpose of Te Pai Ora o Aotearoa and our members. Belinda is Ngāti Apa ki Whanganui. She was raised in Te Tai Tokerau, and married a tāne from Ngāpuhi, although her home is now in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Belinda has most recently completed an 18-month term with the Royal Commission of Abuse in Care as Director and General Manager, Policy, Research and Treaty Partnerships and has had a substantial career in the public sector, leading advisory teams within the social, justice, education, and international policy areas. In 2020 in her role as GM International Education at Ministry of Education, Belinda worked with international education peak bodies and student associations to lead cross-agency and cross-sector advice to reintroduce international students to the New Zealand market post pandemic.
