This Action Plan published by the Ministry of Social Development is important reading for anyone working in community-based social services and across the wider government and non-government social sector. It’s about working together to ensure transofrmation of the way social services and supports are commissioned, so that they best support whānau to live the lives they value.
The Action Plan was published in late 2022, and outlines a clear pathway for change in the space of social sector commissioning, between government agencies and the community-based social sector. The Action Plan contains nine practical and pragmatic actions, and defines interim outcomes. The Action Plan wil be implemented in three phases over the next six years.
