Seuga and ReachOut services
This session was a glimpse into the work Aviva do supporting pasifika and users of harm.
Nicky Sofai, the Seuga (Pasifika) Service Development Manager at Aviva, will share information about the Seuga Programme for Pasifika people. This Education Programme was designed by Pasifika People for Pasifika People, with the objectives of exploring their journey of migrations from the Islands to New Zealand, identifying the challenges that contribute to behaviours that was not normal for them. Understanding where these behaviours stemmed from encourages clients to look at things from a different perspective helping them to make the right choices living life in New Zealand.
Tonia Noa Siaosi will share information about ReachOut, a service supporting Users of Violence, and those who are at risk of using violence. She will share their holistic and Client Centred approach and what to look for when working with a person using violence or at risk of using violence.
