United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child - Concluding Observations on New Zealand 2023

In January 2023 the New Zealand government’s implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was reviewed. This review is undertaken peridocially by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. The Committee made a number of findings in relation to the strengths and gaps of New Zealand’s implementation of children’s rights, and children’s experiences of their rights in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Committee outlines over 80 Recommendations to the New Zealand government, and highlighted seven key areas where urgent actions need to be taken to uphold children’s rights.
